Supposed to be studying but I decided to type this cause it's really stuck on my head. It's not some random rant or what, but somehow I feel like I know why I felt so burdened for sooo long already! If you look back last year, sometime during exchange I started saying that I had so many things on my mind and being cranky in the posts that I made like.. once every few weeks. But I didn't start feeling like that during exchange, it was before that, and I've got no idea how long ago it was when I first felt my sinking heart.
Hehehe warning first: Probably my longest thoughtpost here. But it's just my own opinion :)
To be honest, back then I thought the only burden I had was my own mixed feelings; actually I guess it's not. I have a lot of things that made my heart feel so burdened, and for so many months as well. Though I'm happy and cheery on the outside, there were many instances when I felt so burdened. Like my heart feels super heavy and I got no idea why I felt like that. Which was probably why I wasn't
genuinely happy sometimes though I'm laughing, smiling and being all chattery, and why sad events tend to hit my heartstrings so often that I feel sensitive, upset and teary pretty easily. (but I cannot deny but there were moments when I was really happy, you can hear it easily from my scary, high-pitched, clear laughter!!) And I guess it was my own fault that I didn't seek to listen to what my heart has to say - why it felt like that.
Up till yesterday, I was still blogging, ranting as usual because I felt so frustrated that I always have a heavy heart. I thought by my typing whatever I felt or what I believe to be the root cause would help, even attempted doing things to help me clear my mind, or keep me occupied if need be. I know it's not a permanent solution because after keeping myself occupied, once I had free time everything would hit right back at my heart... And I would have the same burdened feeling again,
Then I'll start ranting/blogging again, hoping it would help... Until it became a vicious cycle. But I know it was not useful when no matter how much I rant I can never feel the satisfaction that I used to have. I find it hard to tell people because I always find it so difficult to trust people, and I don't want to tell them everything and then end with "actually I don't know why I'm feeling like that leh how." It's as though being frustrated on your own is not enough, you still have to disturb people. True that there'll be people who will listen but.. No I don't want to feel like a burden to people. Why waste their time telling them things which they cannot solve as well. I angst, everybody angst, not worth it.
But after trying to listen to my heart and seeking answers for the past few weeks, I kind of understand why I felt like that. Really thankful that I talked to people, listening to their stories or funny events that sort of triggered it - Guess I have to thank Aaron for sure though we didn't really have HTHT. Listening to your story, why you wanted to take a solo trip so badly - it made me realize that probably I should do the same, throw everything aside and have some alone time, like really alone time with myself with no one else to influence me, Listen to what my heart has to say and find a way to make it feel better. I tried, planning to swim, run or even cycle alone but it failed cause I didn't make it there. But I did have time for myself at the library. Though I went there with the intention to study, I would spare time to walk around the library enjoy the peace and serenity, and to think about stuff, alone.
Reminiscence about those older days when I'm truly happy - especially during my secondary school days. I was really busy, probably having an insane schedule that no one would ever experience. Having tuition on almost every weekday evenings, choir on certain days before tuition and Saturdays (and rushing there after all my committee meetings), having violin lessons after my tuition at 8 on Tuesdays and going home feeling so tired at 10 plus, piano lessons on Friday afternoon before going tuition. Yes it's really stressful because I have to juggle so many things on my plate - completing my homework, finding time to practise my instruments, and also gaming. Yes I was into gaming then, one reason being some of my closer secondary school friends are playing too - I don't have time in the day to hang out with them, so this was one of our ways to keep our friendships there. And also I had my online circle of friends who are older than me and often looked out for me, sometimes even accompanying me by training alone while I studied.
Busy? Yes.
Stressful? Yes. How much sleep have I sacrificed for work and play.
But I was really happy then cause I was doing everything that I liked, being who I am without being concerned much. Didn't have much of a life anyway. :P
Comparing times then and now, it doesn't really make sense that I'm less happy.
Busy? Definitely a lot less packed than before.
Stressful? Yes but the pressure from studies is definitely a lot lesser compared to previous semesters other than the time when I was in Taiwan.
Why I was I unhappy? What am I lacking that's making me uncontented? The second trigger point was when I was watching running man, and the day when Kary, Weishan and I were just goofing around and joking around... But those were the times when I really laughed out loud, and it was a genuine one cause I was chuckling out pretty loudly while waiting for my train and when I was on board as well. It was when I really felt happy. And looking at the guests who attended running man also brought up an important point...
I felt so burdened because I have been living in the expectations of others - doing what others expect of me instead of living the life for myself.
The guests were hilarious, but the more important thing was that they were being down to earth and not caring about the image that they should have.
I realized the main pressure on me were these expectations, and how hard I had been trying to live up to them and feeling so burdened in the process. Like because I'm always smiling and cheery, people gets the painted image that I'm always happy, and I try so hard not to say things which may sound like it's not me. Bottling things up made things worse as they weigh my heart down even further.
However, I'm glad that I realized it, better late than never. And giving up study time to do things that made me LOL was definitely worth it cause I feel a lot less burdened now. I shall stop living in the picture depicted by others, time to start doing crazy things that I do best HAHA. Like...
Randomly dancing to the songs being played on the tv, saying stupid things doing stupid stuffs and get judged, etc. HAHAHA cannot forget the times back in bintan when I was so me - bouncing to the beats while singing k (I realised I did tt for cheerdancing practices omg the videos lol!), giving out that scary laughter when the music video is not the actual one but some weird video, and the epic Saboteur match when I got trolled so badly cause only the saboteurs saw the map card and when I see it I was like OMG WHY Y'ALL GO IN THE DIRECTION THAT DOES NOT LEAD TO THE GOLD, and instantly got blocked by everyone cause they thought I was lying LOL. Really laughed so hard till I cried HA. Time to be the real Debbie, someone who's always so tootz and crazy and... blur. Hehehe :))))
Ending my post abruptly cause I'm tired! Why did I challenge my bro to dance to the songs that were played on the screen. And my body clock is screwed, I'd wake up at 2 later. Must not do work and just go sleeep!!
Nothing much, just tt bubblydebs is back. Omg yayyyy let's all be happy everyday. So glad I managed to survive this period of being emo nemo, and bring everything back to how it should have been!!!
Idk I just suddenly feel very much less burdened after thinking through the last few days! :)
Less rants in the days to come, cause I'll make sure I'm spending my day happily and in my crazy way like what Kary and weishan always say, "you must remember that under normal circumstances Debbie doesn't do things the normal way." LOL tbh I think they are the few who have seen my craziest side and heard the weirdest logics from me other than intern peeps who has this debbielogic thing to shut me up HAHA.
I shall insist on being bubbly and happy daily and do the craziest things that define me HAHA. Anw the two kitties rly label me as Debbie = Crazy or nutters TSK.
Shall stop blogging on the train, so happy today :)
Realised I've been using Dayre almost everyday, and even blogging here pretty often. Not sure if I should always be jotting down moments of my life on such platforms cause like what ppl say...
Once they're up on the net it's going to stay there forever.
But then again....
I write them down so that one day should I really start forgetting things easily at least I can fall back on this to remember. Or better still, to reminisce those good old days.
And then again, no matter how open or honest I've been on social media there'll always be things that I'll never post them anywhere. Just tt now I'm starting to feel a bit 'exposed' still, like letting people to read me like an open book. And I don't like the feeling cause I keep having a feeling that someone somewhere is using these for their benefit in some ways. Not the financial kind of benefits but still.. I feel so unsafe meh.
Also, sometimes I feel that everything's just a facade, like how honest can people be? People can have their online persona, so how do we tell which is the real him or her? Like reading online dairies and blogs, sometimes I feel like I know the person better but sometimes I realise that I actually don't know the person at all. :( Why are humans so complicated??????
Maybe I should cut down abit. Looking at my past year I really didn't blog that much. Hmmmm. Then it means I should get my own planner to jot daily musing. I'd definitely prefer to share my thoughts and feeling with people whom I care for via texts or real time conversations. At least I know whom I'm pouring out to and feel more secure.
----
Random thought of the day:
I should stop being so sensitive.
If the person whom you used to talk to often starts to text less now, means it's time to stop. Trying hard to keep the conversation alive... Once is enough. It hurts more if you keep trying and keep failing. They say the key to success is not to give up, but it doesn't apply here. In such situations I guess the more apt phrase would be... It takes two hands to clap.
So I guess I should stopppp. Don't want to seem like a nuisance and no, don't want to be the one who keeps initiating the conversations. 真的累了.
Feels better after saying everything out hahaha. I know there are people who read this space but I guess it's better than typing it on Dayre.

Oh yes dad cut his finger by accident last Sunday. Omg it's so scary to even listen to it and dad kept teasing to show the cut to me :( hahaha but that aside, I'm glad my skin tape is still useful, after bringing it back from tw. Just that I don't have the disinfectant already and yessss it must have been serious for me to use the tape.
And my brother was laughing at me for being so scared tskkkk. But if you knew what happened to my feet and how gross or scary it looked like back in tw you wouldn't laugh alr lorrrrr. Back then I didn't even dare to let weishan see it so I'd only change the dressing when nobody's in and bear w the pain alone.
Hearing how deep the cut was I also know how painful it was for my dad. Really cannot see it cause I don't want to remember the scary times :(
"Don't ask anything. At times like this, just accept the help." Hahaha saw this subtitle while watching Family Book of Gu and it sounded so familiar. I definitely remembered seeing or hearing something similar somewhere before...
Idk why but I always prefer to depend on myself, rather than relying on people. Not that I don't trust people (though part of the reason may be that sometimes) but I always tend to feel bad if I have to inconvenience someone just to help me out. I mean it's nice that there're people who look out for me most of the time, I really really appreciate it. I mean looking back from 2014 till even yesterday, I've been receiving a lot of help and love from different people in many different ways and I'm really very grateful!! *inserts virtual hugs*
But because I tend to feel bad and thankful so easily that I always hear people around me to be more wary that some may not be genuine and are just taking advantage of me. When I feel bad I'll want to do something in return for that person, or normally I'll just keep a lookout for the person cause I just feel indebted haha.
But this kinda reminded me some painful lesson I learnt in primary school. Just reminded me that everything may not be what it seems on the surface. But I guess after so many years already, I should be better at reading people rightttt. But why sometimes I still doubt myself?!
Okay random ranting aside, I'm soooo tired now omg. After staying awake for 36 hours I think no amount of sleep can make up for that. Guess the caffeine in tea really can keep me awake hahah. Had fun at Rachel's place on Friday, really thankful for organising the stayover. :) Guess I had fun thus I didn't think so much till everyone was sleeping and being super awake I started reflecting and thinking about certain issues again sighhh. No sleep and think too much = no good no good.
But I guess I was able to put those thoughts aside better now yayyy. At least I wasn't affected by it after they all woke up! Brunch and more games before heading home, and really thankful to Bryan to sending me back to Tamp (and SH to Hougang and JX to Khatib :)); must have been damn tough for him also all of them also barely slept much and still must drive so long. :/ Reminded me of the Taitung trip when he was also the one who had to keep driving for hours omg. Wondered if he was angst at any point in time while having to send us back when we all stayed so far away. (Cause he never say much but I think any reasonable person would have felt tt way when deciding whether to send us back to our homes) Felt so bad eh, after being a burden in kaohsiung I'm still a burden back here :( Really felt like I owe this friend a lot hahaha.
Wanted to nap at 11 plus at night but I just slept all the way till 2am, before moving to the room and slept till 10. Still damn tired but couldn't sleep, so I'm taking a lot of naps in between instead. Seems like it's a no-work day haha!! #whatisconsol
But I think I'm sooooo tired that I'm having hallucinations HAHA. Like how some things that didn't happen seem so realistic as though it's happening right then though I'm clearly asleep. Ohoh, and also sleep talking omg. My brother said he heard my alarm ring last night and I DID wake up, and even told him stuff hahahha whattt. Zero recollections of those mehhh. Seems like I really need a lot more sleep before school starts again tmr.
I finally visited the docs too for my allergy. It's been long since I've had such a bad one except back in Cing Jing farm. Thankfully it's not food allergy though, still trying hard to adapt to a greater variety of food. :D
Things break all the time. Glass, and dishes and fingernails. Cars and contracts and potato chips.
...
Promises break.
Hearts break.
Lol omg please don't ask me why I borrowed books. I was never a bookworm when young. The first time when I actually started reading fiction was in sec 4 while preparing for O levels, and part of it was because I wanted to improve on my vocabulary so badly - I remembered I was told that having strong grammar alone wouldn't suffice, so my English teacher suggested that I come up with lists of vocabulary to help with my narrative essays.
And after I graduated I read occasionally till As were over. When you're unemployed the healthiest way to kill time is to read. (other than exercising uh)
But as much as reading benefits me, it always gets my brain thinking a lot. It's okay if I'm trying to learn life lessons, but not okay when I start to overthink again when the scenarios are similar. Like how I'd be affected by the songs I listen to :(
But I guess for me to have time to read during recess week means I'm quite free uh. :X #lastsemesteryo Pretty glad I'm not tied down by projects and I'm trying not to study late at night alr! (Though I didn't study much lately haha) #whatisconsol #whatismidterms
Shall try not to think so much while reading. And need to sleep soon omg been a good girl and slept alot for the past few days but why must insomnia hit me today mehhh.

Decided to blog before using Dayre cause phone's down! And also some things are better left here, because this page is not google-able and hence I won't have random people reading all these posts :) Yes, Dayre is scary because I honestly have no idea who is reading it.
Aft this post I guess I should get started on the next travel post already. Been lagging much ooops.
Busy meeting up with people this week, totally not in the mood to study though I've got a lot of work to do and midterms are coming! It's interesting though, after meeting different groups I realized they all ask about the same things about exchange.
And the questions are pretty predictable also; if you know me well enough you would have been able to read between the lines and figure out the ans HAHA. But anyway, I have found the answer to my previous question!
Really enjoyed this week though I had so many things on my mind, like anyone also can tell I emo nemo from all my posts. Met up with VHG on Tuesday, like finally!! :D Had a really great time with them, just like always. :)
Great dinner at Timbre with them, thougg we really ate A LOT. Hahaha truffle fries x buffalo wings x chicken wings as appetizers while waiting for Joyce and one full half-half pizza; super filling! Thank you for the present as well, and felt really bad about Weishan's present cause I thought we had decided on something to buy... but it's not the case omg. Hopefully you can use the voucher to get something you really like! Had a good time catching up, though I'm not too glad by the fact that there are all interested about my life only. Tsk, Weishan was also in Taiwan eh!! There were times when Idk what to answer so I just asked Weishan to answer instead. Thankfully her answers didn't put me in a spot hehehe :P
 |
| With fave girls, missing Joyce who was late! But love y'all lots <3 |
 |
| Joyceeeee!! :D |
Moved on to chill by the river at Clarke Quay with our ice cream yayyy. Had a good time talking to them about my personal life hahaha so rare I'll open up and it's because we have been friends for 8~10 years - I trust that they would not blurt out things that should never be told to others. :D
But I think we all grew up a lot; back then we would talk about school, hardly about boyf. Now, we're even talking about long term plans, like getting apartments, engagements and marriage. If I remembered correctly it's because we have friends who recently got engaged and all, so naturally I'd want to know about Chels' and Kary's situations since they have been attached for quite long already! Also good information for Weishan & the evergreen us! I still don't get why is Joyce evergreen ooops, I always thought she was attached at least once cause she's a good catch lehhhh *hints* :P But okay, we can be all of their bridesmaids next time HAHA :)
So yeaps for the single ones, we just asked questions to know about each others' types and all. Really interesting though, we have the similar sentiments about who we look out for. We depend a lot on feelings, so when we actually start to like someone it's normally based on something which probably touched us. Don't think it's a good thing for me though, cause I'll get affected easily, esp when the person is hot and cold sometimes lolol.
But I'm a little surprised that Kary knew about my passiveness omg. Like when I had to answer Joyce's question, she added in the point that I'm super passive and I am always nice to people, so it's super hard for people to gauge if I'm interested or not haha. Passive as in even if I like I also won't say / just deny ooops. It's so true if you looked at what happened in the past. Talked about other stuff as well but in short it was a good night spent with them, guess this is the first time we had such serious talk :P
It's true uh, it's been a bit too long ago already for anything to happen lolol.
Met the super rare pokemon today, and they asked the same things. Haiyoooo.
That aside, I shall go cycling next week! Not sure if anyone else is coming along but I'm still going! it'll be good to re-live some of the memories back in tw and spend some alone time :) :)
Contemplating wearing contacts for LT recently hahaha, must be because of Lucia's comment ahhh. I'll start off by wearing it out more often when I'm not in school :) And decide aft that

"What if my gut feeling is spot on?"
Hahaha idk, but I always had this question in my mind but I don't dare to ask the other party lolol. But yeah, just a really random thought that came across to me last night again hahaha - CNY has been well, though we shouldn't be celebrating and all but I guess they relaxed their traditions over the years. We just don't give people angbaos or wish them happy CNY can alr :) So I've been kept really busy everyday and not having time for myself or for work till last night. Seems like I really like to think a lot about life instead of focusing on graduating in time HAHA.
But yeaps, guess after talking to quite a number of people over the past few weeks I realised something interesting hahah, Bev was the one who told me verbally when I visited her! Hahaha she's still damn funny pls, when we reached her room the first thing she asked whether we wanted alcohol HAHA. But ok glad we did, cause it was rly a lot easier for me to open up since I'm alw whiny after drinking a lil. She's probably the only one whom I just admit to something which I rly hate to.
Butbut that aside, rly had some serious talk that night though we were goofing around most of the time. And her questions sort of asked me, why didn't I take the initiative to ask? The only reply was that I wasn't sure and because my gut feeling tells me something else which I need some confirmation first. I know it's a lousy excuse but honestly I need that certainty before I know what to do next haha. And she agreed that I cannot assume anything. Heheh end of story.
But tbh, I'm just wondering, if my gut feeling was wrong then nothing will happen. However, what if my gut feeling was right along? Will I miss something that I could actually have but I lost it because of my so called uncertainty?
Hahaha idk ahhh, shall just continue being the one who doesn't know anything and live in ignorance first. Guess I'll be happier now like that.
And omg I actually find Up & Down quite interesting leh. I mean it's overrated and the dance is meh. But I like the raps, and part of the lyrics sort of made sense though. And it's currently my running song alongside w Crazy!! Dk why but I run btr with these songs on loop.
----
Day 3 of visiting ended! Was out with tutorial friends at Ziyang's place - thanks for hosting us! Rly glad that I have made valuable tutorial friends in my Uni life! Like before entering NTU I was rly worried about how life would be like; I know it'd be difficult to make true friends and given my super introverted nature I'd be in my own turtle shell. But it turned out otherwise - rly glad to have known them though when it comes to groupings it's alw an issue hahaha.
You know who are the friends to keep when you really want to go grad trips with them... Speaking of which I really have grad trip crisis again. Need to cancel NZ :(:( And also it's not rly possible to go Europe with them!! Shall hope Korea is still in the plan so that I can go for one trip w them! Need to plan Taiwan also!!! Please please please let it materialise :)
Anw, had a ride home thanks to Aaron and had a good time talking to him - glad it's not about school if not it'll be so awkward in the car. But hearing his POV on certain issues just got me thinking. Guess when all of us grow older the things we talk about rly differ a lot. Cannot ever imagine me ever attempting to talk about the same issues with Lucia HAHAHA. But anw, hope he has fun in Japan during recess week and have a good break alone!
First time in Kaohsiung! :)
Arrived safely and we cabbed down to our place! :) Realized that Taiwanese are relatively friendly, cause the cab uncle was talking to us and attempted to help us when we were saying what we were looking for and all - like when we wanted to look for bicycles that we can buy and travel around with, he said he can recommend a place for us :) But we didn't take up his offer in the end though.
Finally arrived at our place, and it's not that difficult to find cause it's beside
Gushan Ferry Pier (鼓山輪渡站) But I realized we can only enter and exit through the back door; when we first arrived, we entered through his relative's shop because we had quite a number of luggage and baggage, and..... we have to carry them up to level 3. Thankfully the guys helped out with most of the luggage, if not Weishan and I would have probably died! Went to take a look around the level, and the guys chose their rooms cause they are each taking a room without their own toilet. Learnt of where are the common areas, electrical charges and settled the administrative stuff like signing the contract and getting our keys! It was so confusing for me at first cause... There are about 6 keys though we mainly required the keys to our room and at the gate. (I normally don't carry keys around in SG oops :/)
 |
| Gushan Ferry Pier! Had to google this cause I realized.. I don't have photo of it omggg! |
Headed out after leaving our luggage and bags in the rooms. Headed to the 24-hour convenience shop that is near to get some basic toiletries, and we went to our first Carrefour after that! Asked our landlord's relatives (宋姊姊 and 王先生) which is the nearest one and we cabbed to the one that was near 愛河! Sushi express for dinner before doing some household shopping, like looking for laundry baskets and Magic Clean mop, as well as shopping for beddings and pillows! Bought bolster as well cause I need to hug something to sleep at night if not...... I'll end up hugging Weishan and that's it for exchange HAHAHA.

Remembered we bought a lot of stuff cause when we cabbed back, after putting most of the items in the boot, we still had a lot on hand while on our way home! Cleaned up our rooms, and it took quite a while! But I'm glad we were finally settled down after a super looong day!
 |
| Our room!! Looks super empty but it's so clean and tidy... for a day HAHA |
Headed down to Hi-life for supper with Bryan cause he was hungry, and that was when we first met 邱先生 and I had my first 茶葉蛋! Hahaha he was really friendly cause he came to talk to us first, and also gave us mooncakes since it was Mid Autumn Festival then! :)
(I was wondering what we did the next day cause there were no photos but in the end it was the day when we wanted to open bank account but we couldn't cause we went to the wrong City Council place to do up our 統一證書! But we went to our first IKEA that day.)
And I had my first solo trip around our area on the third day! Haha who says I cannot travel alone lor!! But it's quite fun, I had a really hard time remembering the streets and all cause they look the same!! They all look like this:
Had my first bubbletea - Stupid Ice Tea (傻瓜冰茶) HAHAHA, and my first waffle at Tribbiani Cafe! The place is really nice!! But sadly I only went there once cause... I can't find people to eat waffles with me T.T When you have a super healthy housemate and a couple... I don't think I want to disrupt their dates/diet hahaha!
 |
| So pretty!! |
First cycling trip to NSYSU / Cijin Island! :)
Decided to cycle around our place! Rented bikes from the shop opposite the train station. It's super cheap omg, NT50 for one whole day till 10pm!! That's like SGD$2 - 2.50?! In Singapore, the cheapest I saw was probably $6.50 per hour and you only get a free hour if you rent the bicycles for two hours :(
But I guess it's attributable to the culture here, where most people actually cycle or ride motorbikes compared to Singapore where cars are more prevalent and you actually cannot just cycle on the roads freely!
Had our first ever lunch at La Morning before starting our day! Hahaha its a place that was recommended by Bryan's friend, who managed to draw out the streets of Sizihwan omg damn zai!! I think I still kept the photos so that I can use them next time when I visit again! (I still can remember the streets near our place though, hopefully it wouldn't change much when I go back!)
Hehehe decided to cycle to school from La Morning to tour around before school starts! Found it so cool that we can go to school via a tunnel, I remembered when I went to the cafe a few days back the shop owner gave me a map around Sizhiwan and I thought we have to walk through trees and all 'cause the school is located on mountains. :S
 |
| The tunnel entrance to our school :D |
Toured around the school - cycled to the Gym, our Management College, the Family Mart nearby (as well as the clinic/post office etc) but didn't get to cycle to the hostel area cause the slope up was so steep. Sorry but I'm a huge burden cause I can't cycle properly and I really cannot cycle up slopes :(
But we managed to cycle to the area near the seaside; it's the area with a lot of rocks where most couples would gather around at night to enjoy the view/breeze/etc! We climbed past this "barrier"/gate to go to the far end where you can see people fishing! But the view was really pretty! :) Weishan & CK went ahead with snapping couple photos and have their own time, Bryan went to talk to the locals there cause he was interested in fishing hahaha. And guess he took quite a while cause there was a period of time when the three of us were sitting down and getting roasted under the sun!
 |
| Hahaha it was so hot!! Could barely open our eyes except Bryan |
Went to the 7-11 near our area - to have iced desserts cause we were dying from the heat! But it was located at the second level though, separate from 7-11 itself! Had shaved mango ice and fruit platter! :)
Headed to
Cijin Island (旗津島) after that, took the ferry there! And the trip is really cheap - NT15 for a trip there with your bicycle! It's a relatively short ride there, and we decided to try cycle around the borders so that we can try covering as much as we can within a few hours.
 |
| Cijin Island harbour view from the ferry |
Cycled to a few places, like the 砲台, 星光隧道 and the Kaohsiung Harbour! :) Don't have a lot of photos, mainly are those photos that Bryan took with his animal figurines hahaha. But it was fun cycling around a foreign place and glad to have the guys to help us navigate around the island while we were cycling! :)
 |
| After cycling past 星光隧道! Hahaha can see we all looked a lil burnt already! |
 |
| At Kaohsiung Harbour! :) |
 |
| Hehehe the view is so pretty! But it was only around 3pm that time |
Decided to cycle towards the lighthouse (
旗津灯塔) cause we heard we can see the sunset there! :) And also to get dinner along the way~ Hehehe passed by this area where there's a huge crab statue and decided to take a selfie with it, but it was a failed attempt hahaha why didn't I take a landscape shot hahaha. But there were many cute seafood figurines around too, just that I wasn't really a fan to take so many photos then :X
We passed by this seafood shop and decided to have late lunch there! (think we ate at about 4pm?) But it's not very cheap though hahaha. (Didn't learn of the existence of 萬三 back then!) And so sorry that I'm a burden again cause I don't really eat seafood, tried a lil' bit only :S Thankfully they ordered meat, though it was ostrich meat hahaha. At least I still tried something new? :P
Continued cycling towards the lighthouse, and it's not as near as it seemed hahaha. Was cycling for pretty long (think this was my second longest cycling experience following the Carrefour one cause we had quite a few breaks for this trip!) before we finally reached the foot of the entrance. Had to park our bikes before we can walk all the way up, and sadly we didn't really manage to catch the sunset because it was quite misty up there! But the view was really not bad, just that there were a lot of tourists hahah :D
Headed back to the ferry terminal after that, by then it was quite late already! Hahaha realized that it turns dark early in Kaohsiung (sunset was at 5 plus!), but the night view on the way back was nice too :) :)
Weishan & CK went on their date after that, I remembered it was so difficult for them to voice out that they want to have their dinner together without us :S But anyway, Bryan & I had dinner together! Thankfully it wasn't really awkward then, if not Idk how I'll survive my exchange :S (Times like then when I was thankful I got to know him better in Hong Kong first when I could still stick to Weishan when I wasn't that familiar with the other two :P) But yeaps, we ate at the Japanese place near our apartment after walking around to decide what we want to eat. The food was really nice, and it's not very expensive!! Hahaha good dinner and had a nice time talking & learning more about my housemate :)

| My dinner :D :D :D |

| Bryan's food! |
Hehehe really enjoyed myself that day, and sorry for being a burden most of the time guys, really #dangerouscyclistdebs :/ But it was quite funny cause after we got back I couldn't stop laughing at the fact that they all looked burnt! (I didn't really get burnt, just instant tan) And it's like 30%, 50% and 70% burnt - I was telling Weishan one Cijin trip and I earned a 蝦, 螃蟹 and 龍蝦 as my housemates HAHAHAHA.
Orientation day!
Went for orientation on the very next day! Hahaha we didn't have our bicycles yet, and it was sooooo warm thus we decided to cab to school! And it's quite cheap, about 110 NT only!! Got a bit lost, and we just followed the crowd to find the auditorium! Luckily we were all in the same orientation group, if not I wouldn't know what to do if I'm alone!
Went touring around the school areas in our orientation group! Hahaha I made a very funny mistake that 害死 Bryan - Cause we were saying the group leader (in white shirt and bangs) looks quite pretty/cute, but oops I guess someone from our group heard us, and she happened to be in white shirt and bangs too... so I guess she thought we were talking about her omg. So it seemed like all along Bryan referred to her as the pretty/cute one HAHAHA I'M SUPER SORRY UNCLEEEE. It was sooo funny/embarrassing when she kept glancing at us omg. But Bryan kept talking about his 韓國妹妹 who was also in our group! Tsktsk!!!
Ended orientation by having dinner together at Banana Pier! Hahaha free food before heading back at night! And omo, realized many people whom I know were also in NSYSU! Like Jiayi and my LWP friends :D :D Really mini NBS there!
Headed back and we had our first Bridge/Asahi gathering in our room! Hahaha but we didn't play very long or drink a lot though, cause Bryan had plans to go club with his friends that night! Decided not to turn in too late as well cause Weishan & Chongkai decided that we should wake up early and head to school to exercise - our landlord was saying that the electricity would be down! & Bryan managed to make it back home alive at about 4am? Hahaha.
So we went to school as planned without Bryan - the gym wasn't opened though! Ended up jogging a little at the tracks instead and we almost died from the heat. Headed back aft that to realize that the electricity wasn't down afterall; no wonder Bryan still managed to sleep in after his hangover lolol.
Had my first Wan Bing (丸浜) soft serve handmade ice cream in Kaohsiung in the afternoon hehehe! :D Tastes really good omggggg!! And they have different flavours everyday - not the specific days have specific flavours kind, but it's really the unpredictable kind! Like normally you will only know the flavours on the day itself unless they pre-release them! That day the special flavours were Rose Milk and Coco!! I like the rose milk cause it tasted like Bandung :D
 |
| That day's special flavours were Bandung and Chocolate! :) |
First KTV session!
Cannot really remember when (I think it's the next day after we had Wan Bing), but we also had our first KTV session in Partyworld! Hahaha singing KTV in Taiwan is relatively cheaper compared to the outlet in Singapore! But Teoheng still cheapest ^^ Still remembered the last time when I went Partyworld with my ex-colleagues at U-Ventures it cost us about 200+ for a few people omg (thankfully it was staff welfare so it was a treat!:) ) The place was quite nice, we had our own toilet somemore. And my housemates aren't bad singers, from my very honest opinion! :)
 |
| The only photo we had... just a candid shot lolol |
Enjoyed singing those older Chinese songs; I've been into Kpop (and only Kpop) for so long that I don't really know the newer songs!! If I can even hum or sing a few lines that's because I've heard it on the radio once or the melody pattern was easy to grasp such that I can sort of sight-sing haha! #bestatfluff. But it's nice to remember the times when I last sang some of the songs with people then! Like how WS, Kary and I loved Jay Chou's songs, I really really liked 擱淺!!! & How the choir people like Joyce, Kary and Jiaying would sing 不能說的秘密 during choir breaks! :) We even printed the lyrics to sing along to it. Yay to more K sessions next time!!
First time at Xin Jue Jiang :)
Got introduced to this place thanks to Bryan's buddy - they met up on the first day of school when we went school to "beg" for modules. Tagged them for lunch after my badminton class and I went to ask where we could shop HAHA (cause the atmosphere was a little awkward also, so just ask questions heh) and she recommended Xin Jue Jiang :) Went there with Bryan in the evening, and also to get my prepaid card settled so that I can be contactable.
Tried 天使雞排 for the first time and it was nice though it was a bit too spicy HAHA - Still remembered when I had to go back to Chunghwa Telecom to fix the prepaid card Bryan was drenched from eating half of it hahaha. Had the huge 1000cc cup of milk tea after that! And also some Japanese fried noodles which was not bad too! :) Did some shopping as well!! If I remembered correctly this was the time at Xin Jue Jiang when we bought a lot clothes from a shop cause it was quite cheap!! But somehow some of Bryan's clothes shrank in size after washing so they ended up looking a bit like cropped tops ooops. Nonetheless it was a good evening spent shopping and eating :D
 |
| What we ate that time! Feat Bryan as the model cause I don't have other photos of the food itself ooops! |
To be continued! :D

Glad that another week has passed! And I think I'm really very slack; when I'm at home I'm FOREVER sleeping! I can nap anywhere at any time of the day oops - from sofa, massage chair, and now even on office chairs *shrugs* Spent my Tuesday napping / watching TV and omo, Wednesday was a
nightmare - stayed at home the whole day in an attempt to read my Consol textbook & to do SLS and my Korean homework! (Cause I don't like it when I don't get what's going in class, but tbh it's so difficult that even after reading textbook I'm still so lost)
But I did take some time off to get CNY greeting cards around my place, and also to sort out the stuff in the box. Yes, the boxes are finally shipped to SG!! But how am I going to get my stuff back ah :( Now I'm really wondering why did I suggest sending all to Bryan's place when we stay at extreme ends lolol. Life would probably been a little better if one of the two boxes was sent back to my home, so even if we have to settle our "gift exchange" it wouldn't be such a chore. Cause now we don't see each other in school and so..... I also don't know how to settle hahaha. #sostressful, cause when we were deciding what to do I can totally feel the angst man, felt super bad omggg. Ironically, the main reason to meet was to pass the CNY card first cause we need to post it out soon.
& Thankfully I don't really need the clothes yet, the masks can be left un-refrigerated,, so yeaps, no rush to collect them yet!
Took one whole day to do consol, but I'm still so lost after I finished the SLS questions late at night. Had to rush my Korean homework as well, Idk if I even wrote the right stuff cause it was like past 2am already; and also rushed out the CNY greetings for the card. And I'm still so bad writing traditional Chinese characters, I was literally pulling my hair out at 3am while trying to write; never liked writing such things in a rush, and totally reminded me the time when we were rushing the Christmas letter for 邱先生 then. (And I have yet to write for my buddy!! Lucky we communicate in English, so if I really have no time I'll write the greetings in English. And I'm really hoping she'll come to Singapore after my exams!)
Had so much fun playing badminton on Thursday though I was literally dying from the lack of sleep - I almost missed my station while omw to school, totally sleeping like a log in the train cabin! Played for an additional hour after class today, super fun hehehe. But I can totally feel that I was going to faint anytime while keeping the equipment - must be lack of sleep and exercise! Had something sweet before heading back, but I guess I was too tired, I missed my station and ended up being home later than usual! And getting locked out of my house isn't fun when you're tired (though all I need is just to take the lift up by another level to collect the keys) But I still stayed up to finish my Korean homework yay #welldonedebbie :)
Today was spent with c.l.o.t.h.e.s. hahaha. Headed down for my first ever warehouse sale with godsis today! And it's Love & Bravery warehouse sale hahaha who can resist!! Cause their items are on the high-end side, like close to $40 for a dress. So normally I'll just buy from retail shops instead :P But omg tops/bottoms at $12, dresses at $15, super worth it!! Picked out a lot of clothes, most of which I normally don't wear to school! Hahaha shall be a good change this year! (But I should have bought more oops, :X)
Afternoon spent picking out the clothes that I think I would wanna keep - only looked through the two wardrobes, and not the laundry baskets yet! And it' soo tiring, was trying to carousell those that I probably worn once and those brand new clothes cause it's a waste to throw them away! Napped and shall attempt to finish my weekly post-exchange entry. Don't think I'll have time to do the Taichung post today, shall do the one in Kaohsiung :)
And I will finish my research for badminton presentation today! :) Also to relook into my SLS cause Janelle was saying our answers are slightly different - glad to have her to track my progress in an indirect way. Debz shall be productive so that I can enjoy my day tmr!! Excited much :)
I am in charge of how I feel today and I'm choosing to be happy :)
Actually not just today, shall be happy everyday!
February has been nice thus far, shall set a date to meet Huiqi and Szejen next week! Cause I was talking to godsis while she stayed over last night, she still thinks that I shouldn't go on with my NZ trip and instead, go for Asia or elsewhere with the others. So I guess I should ask them first before I make my final decision! But that being said, I'm also not sure if my trip to Taiwan/HK/anywhere else will materialize. I hope it does though!!! On a side note, Korea trip is definitely on this year end!!! Been long since I travelled overseas together with godsis!
Moltres BBQ next Fri and reunion dinner with le tutorial mates in the week after next! :) And yes I need to meet Michie, ice-cream buddy I miss you!! :(
Note to self when I'm stressed/down/angst;
Happydebs is always happy when I'm with good company :) :) Really spent my weekend well, at the expense of my studies. But I guess it's because we're still at Week 3, so I gave myself some leeway to enjoy myself while I still can :D
Date with family!
Went to visit grandpa to place some flowers at his resting place, but it took us so long to get there 'cause it was so hard to get maxicab! So in the end we decided to book 2 cabs wherever we travel around. Went to do some shopping with grandma and aunts at AMK hub! Think the last time I went there was before they renovated it or something - it looks so different now. Managed to get some clothes, and I got a maroon top. So proud of myself that I didn't get a white top, if not my whole wardrobe will be white already hahaha. Oh yes, we all bought bubble tea, and Alishan tea is niceeeee! Also went to this
pasar malam nearby, totally reminded me of those
yeshis that we went in Kaohsiung, just that it's a day market here. (Shall not elaborate how much I missed tw again, if not it'll sound so irritating haha)
Went to do some home shopping after that - hahaha saw many home furniture that's so pretty and all. Made me wonder why didn't I help out with my own home shopping when we renovated our place :( But it's still fun to watch them shop for curtains and bed sheets while my bro and I were just goofing around. Went to eat around the area, and there's this crab house that looks nice, and they intend to dine there for my grandma's birthday in March - I need to start getting used to eating crabs already! :P Something good about spending one whole day with them - always eating HAHAHA. Getting fat but oh well I still enjoyed it. Too bad mummy was busy at work though :/
Watched Insidious Chapter 2 late at night and I think I'm not as brave as before, I cannot sit and watch the whole show without covering my face often HAHAHA. Guess it's a good thing for my friends cause I probably wouldn't ask them to watch horror movies that often - paying money to scare ourselves :D But speaking of movies, I haven't really watched one in the cinema in a loooong while, not even in Taiwan omgz. Only watched one movie there... in our apartment then, using the laptop hahaha. There were movies that I wanted to watch but never got the chance to, sadly. Shall watch one soon using the free movie voucher I got! #cheapskatemuch :D
And I missed movie marathons with Kary & Weishan, those ol' times when we would rent DVDs and watch it at my place (once at Weishan's). We'd always have one horror/thriller (for me hehe), one comedy to calm our nerves after watching the horror show, and one of a random genre. Guess we are all so busy now that if we have to spare time to watch these, we don't need to sleep already!
KBBQ/ KTV/ Dinner
Met Bryan, JX and Rachel for brunch at Ssikkek - left house late and had to run for buses and trains... on a Sunday morning :S But heyyyy though I was late I still ended up being the earliest! & I was staring at the maps for damn long and trying to match with the screenshot I had to find my way cause I thought they all left first hahaha. Thankfully I headed back & the guys led the way though, if not I'd never get there :D
Good food and good company - so much laughter talking to them and listening to their theories HAHA. Like mind-blogging questions but I can never reason it out properly - like whether 0.999999 = 1 and whether to take the final exams in a given situation. But I think the funniest would be JX's theory about putting back uneaten rice to the rice cooker HAHAHA. First time hearing the logic behind doing this, and it's epic cause whatever questions we raised he still held on firmly to his logic.. to the extent that we were just asking for the sake of asking already. And we were learning how to peel prawns using spoon and fork - I gave up halfway HAHA but still finished my prawn anw :P
The BBQ smell was so strong; after that the guys went to spray febreeze on themselves and smell like some washing product HAHAHA. Headed to Teoheng after that to change and get our room number, and it's quite cheap omo - $30 for 3 hours and it's not per pax, it's by room size! Had fun singing though I don't think everyone got to sing much cause we had 8 people (SH, CH, SK and Fiona joined us there), but guess it's the company that matters! And they have new songs as well; managed to sing
算什么男人 and 可惜没如果! Guess the girls were a bit lazy to head over to choose songs; I was wondering why we didn't sing Blank Space :P (And I saw - they have 12:30 inside as well omg!!!) But still good time spent there singing/listening to oldies and the usual songs! Hopefully we'll get to meet up and sing k soon, though once everyone gets busy and starts studying then it's a different story already :(
Headed for dinner with them after that (though I have dinner at home and I still told my maid in the morning that I would be home for dinner :P) Idk what made Bryan felt so sure that I would definitely dine out, and guess I should've listened and called my maid to not cook for me even before we went for KTV haha. Dinner at Steakout - it's good and affordable! (But I'd prefer Thai if we could have went to the place where we initially want to go; cravings hahaha) Sadly we can't really eat in peace cause Bryan was being annoying with his fake British accents and puns, and his knife show that put our lives on the edge. Get his intentions for trying to entertain though :P But thankfully I'm well trained not to laugh at his jokes already, cannot afford to choke on my food and start coughing again. Not when I'm finally okay and well enough to sing :D
Wanted to head back after that, but we stopped by at Blackball :D Sighpie, supposed to eat desserts once every fortnight but it... failed HAHA. Having it weekly hahaha, not to mention I still have my gelato cravings - shall find Michie to eat together soon! :) And I never knew they have winter melon base for the dessert - shall eat there again sometime sooooooon!!
Sunday really well spent with them; I don't say much but really thankful to have known all of them. :D Guess really, if not for Taiwan exchange, I wouldn't have known any of them and things would really be different back in SG. Meeting new people & making new friends is interesting; I'm always glad that I've made friends who are friends to keep! :)
Every new friend is a new adventure... the start of more memories. - Patrick Lindsay
Something that we can all relate to :)
Headed home and I had ice cream and milo for desserts again cause my maid struck lottery - not a lot but she always buy us stuff at times like this! Hehehe not to mention they saved my favourite soup for me for supper! :D (Guess my mum was also smart enough to tell my maid not to save food for me). Glad the week ended well~~
Yoga Monday!
Super busy Monday - had to bring so many sets of clothes - one for the accreditation meeting, and sports attire for yoga! Shan't elaborate on the meeting cause it's on dayre, but yoga was quite interesting though I was late, I missed like more than half the lesson! HAHA. But okay at least I still exercised a little! And it's always nice to talk to Kary cause we can talk about anything and everything, and it keeps me happy :D Hopefully the next few sessions would be fun as well! & Our stomach muscles did ache today HAHA. Do you think it's possible to get abs from all these yoga with all the core training? :P
On a side note I'm glad I'm following my resolutions - trying new food / spending quality time with people who make me happy :D Hahaha random but Bev made me do the quiz to find out about my love language. I got
quality time as my primary language and
words of encouragement as my secondary language, but I guess it's not only when it comes to those kind of relationships, even with friends I guess these hold as well :D Which is probably why the company always mattered more than anything else.
One of the best things in life is making new friends and spending time with the old ones.
This is quite true hahaha :)
Something rather punny to end the post before I start.... doing some work! Shall be a good student and stay at home in the afternoon :D
