Making time for myself
Wednesday, 2 March 2016

Finally had time to even log in my personal laptop. Been less busy after December.. or maybe not? Haha thought for once I'd be off-peak after December but My January and February seemed to pass so quickly without knowing. It's already March :(

Feels like I have yet to meet any of my own personal goals. I think I've also yet to set aside time to do my mid-year review oops. Planned to strike out some of the items on my to-do list, like....

1. Cleaning up my room
2. Exercise daily
3. Sleep early and have enough rest
4. Try to avoid work, as much as possible.
5 Watch a bit of drama :D

But hmm... Seems like nothing is working out. Planned to take 26th -4th off to do all of these, but I cancelled my leave on 26th because there is simply too many things that I have yet to clear (sucks to be slow) but somehow I realised I did not have time to do a proper handover of projects and I actually have work that was quite urgent (not sure if it is really that urgent but seems like it) and so I don't think I will really be enjoying my break.

Thus far, I don't think I have accomplished much - both personal and work wise. Tried to take my weekends off - been trying a few weeks but somehow I'll always end up working on Sunday nights when I realised that I have yet to clear some stuff. Did the same on Sunday too - trying to email seniors  managers on the work status as well as any updates. Tried to do a bit of reading up for a client so that I can get wok done over the week, until I realised that I was supposed to be on leave. So I kinda ended up watching my drama ooops. Happened over the past few days as well, except that I get to wake up a lot later because my head really spins from the lack of sleep.

Been waking up close to noon, and I'll tell myself that I should do work before enjoying my day but somehow it did not work out. Like I will end up watching my drama or reading recaps.. anything but doing work. And when I finally decided that I should work, it will be too late in the night that I can feel my brain shutting down. Well I guess this is why most people say that it's very difficult to get the momentum going once I go on a long break - except that I am still in Singapore and that I will keep checking my emails to make sure that things don't screw up because I am away (like my work, client emails, etc). Cannot imagine how bad I will procrastinate over the week but I definitely need to clear some work over the weekends considering how packed I am next week. Tax town hall + chalet on Friday, chalet with Weishan and co on Saturday, and date with Michelle on Sunday. Really hoping that I don't have to miss these for work!

Other than that...

I've yet to clean my own room. HAHAHA forget it this is my failed plan every year. But at least I've been trying to exercise. Like y'know, work really makes people fat. And the fact that I prioritise my work over exercise contributed to my fats sighsssss. Also hoping that daily exercise can help to keep my migraine away! Though it is not exactly working before I haven't been sleeping early at all. Like I really work late at night instead of trying to clear things in the day. Point 4.. hahaha ultimate fail. Just hoping today is the only day when I don't have to do any work.

As for point 5.. YESS :D Hahahah realised that I had ct my TV time significantly over the 6 months. Decide to catch Cheese in the trap cause I caught the first 2 episodes on TV and my aunts were saying that it s a good show! Really enjoyed the show, except the last few episodes. But overall it was a good show! Cannot imagine me catching up with 14 episodes by Monday and finishing the series today (yup it just ended yesterday night). Even watched the RAW version in Korean before the subs were out! And read a bit of the original webtoon. Guess this is the only time when I feel that I am still a teenager. Hehe love this OST since yesterday:

Okay shall spend some quality time with mum today - hopefully nothing urgent crops up like my past 2 short breaks!!

Would be quite funny to say that my mum and I wanted to get out of Singapore during this period but kinda failed because.. both of us cannot leave our laptops for a day, and my dad forbids :X

Guess my mum is not enjoying her break at all - Especially when she spends more time infront of the laptop than I do. Which I realised that we are the same - slaves for work. Hahaha. But I am definitely more lazy. Hopefully this is not apparent in my work though.

Anyw, read the post about My Sister Bakes, and kinda got me thinking if I should be pursuing what I like than to work my life away. Cause afterall, I started work when I was still 21. And it was shortly after I graduated. Wondered if I have accomplished things that I wanted to do when I'm still young...But I guess that should come in later since I have already applied for ISCA. 3 years more ooops.
